Introduction

To become successful entrepreneurs, the entrepreneurs should demonstrate some of the entrepreneurial traits. Examples of entrepreneurial traits that should be demonstrated by entrepreneurs are integrity and reliability, initiative, versatility, decisive, time competence, perceptiveness, ability to learn from mistakes, ethical consciousness and foresight.
Integrity can be defined as having strong moral values and principles. It involves disclosing and communicating the truth to the clients as well as decision makers (Suhaib, 2006). Reliability is the ability of entrepreneurs to maintain the functions in routine of business.
Initiative can be defined as the ability of deciding or generating new decisions and plans without waiting for the other person to tell you what acts that you should do (Hubbard, 2005). It is important to entrepreneurs as this trait will decide the success or failure of the business.
Versatility is also an important trait that should be demonstrated by entrepreneurs. Versatility is the ability to adapt in various situations, task and fields. It allows entrepreneurs to compete in wide variety of fields (Dave Overthrow, 2008).
Besides, entrepreneurs should also play decisive role in business. It allows entrepreneurs to determine for the final results in particular situations quickly and with confidence. This trait is important when entrepreneurs have to make decisions in critical moments. Any of the decisions made will give impacts on the business. Therefore, entrepreneurs should be confident with their decisions.
Next, time competence can be defined as the ability of completing particular jobs or tasks within the periods that have been planned before. It is important for entrepreneurs to complete their task according to the schedule that they have planned.
Perceptiveness can be defined as the ability to see and understand things quickly rather than others (Grant, 2013). Perceptive entrepreneurs are very good in noticing and understanding things that people cannot notice and they are good at combining information by using their senses.
It is also important for entrepreneurs to have ability to learn from mistakes. People only can learn from mistakes after they admit that they have made it. In the process of learning, we can improve ourselves. Entrepreneurs who learn the lessons from previous mistakes often lead to future success.
Ethical consciousness is the ability to identify moral and ethical contents. This trait is considered important in developing the business. Entrepreneurs should always hold to moral guidelines and make ethical decisions in every stage of business.
Foresight is the ability to predict what will happen in the future and able to use this ability to prepare for the future. The practice of foresight in business will help entrepreneurs to avoid surprises by identifying possible outcomes and reduce uncertainty in making decisions.
